One of the most desired playmakers in the 2026 recruiting class set his announcement date for Sunday. Oregon seemed to have the potential inside track to Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, but one tweet suggests that might not be the case.

Just a few days after Dan Lanning and the Ducks lost a top cornerback to LSU, he could see the Ohio State Buckeyes take a four-star receiver from Mater Dei High School. Dixon-Wyatt is Chris Henry Jr.'s teammate, but the Buckeyes also just landed Brock Boyd.

Ohio State grabbing yet another receiver just didn't seem to be in the cards until mega star Jeremiah Smith tweeted about Dixon-Wyatt's announcement.

Choosing between Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, and Texas, there are only blueblood programs in the race.

He is ranked as the No. 31 recruit nationwide and the No. 5 wide receiver, according to Rivals. He is a versatile pass catcher who stands out in contested situations and makes big plays.

Last season, he recorded 50 receptions for 693 yards and five touchdowns while playing for MaxPreps National Champion Mater Dei, where he was part of a talented roster alongside teammates like Nasir Wyatt and Jordon Davison, who are now with the Ducks.

He also played alongside Ducks players Aydin Breeland and Jack Ressler during his sophomore year. Dixon-Wyatt visited Eugene for Junior Day in January and again on April 18, during the weekend of Oregon's second spring scrimmage.

When asked about his visit by On3, he said, “Oregon has always been a top school for me, but they have recently really started to separate themselves from the other schools.”

“I’ve built a great relationship with the head coach – Dan Lanning… I have former high school teammates on the team. It’s not that far away. It feels like home every single time I go over there.”
