The Ohio State Buckeyes produced 14 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, but one of their key leaders throughout their National Championship run didn't hear his name called. Despite winning the Rimington Trophy for being the best center in the nation last season, Seth McLaughlin went undrafted.

Had McLaughlin been picked, the Buckeyes would've tied Georgia for the record of having the most draft picks produced by one school in a single class. Instead, McLaughlin quickly signed as the top UDFA with the Cincinnati Bengals.

A big reason why McLaughlin fell from mid-round projections was the status of his torn Achilles injury. He could miss most of, if not the entire, 2025 season.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day made it clear what he thought about McLaughlin's situation.

"I don't think Seth should have gone undrafted," Day said.

McLaughlin ended up as the top player on ESPN's Big Board when pick 257 was announced and the event closed.

But McLaughlin isn't giving up on his dream as he competes to back up starting Cincinnati center Ted Karras and 2024 seventh-round pick Matt Lee.

"I got a lot of good tape out there, I've got a lot of accolades, a lot of experience, I can bring a lot of value to an organization," McLaughlin said at Ohio State's pro day on March 26. "So I'm not worried about it, wherever I end up, I end up, and I'm excited to see where that is."
