Texas star WR Cam Coleman sends warning directed at the Ohio State Buckeyes ahead of Saturday’s huge game in Austin
The talking is starting ahead of the big time game between Ohio State and Texas with Cam Coleman firing off a message directed at the Buckeyes.
The Ohio State Buckeyes face one of their toughest regular season tests in Week 2 when they travel to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns. The top-5 matchup features two programs coming off dominant Week 1 performances, with Texas cruising past Texas State 59-7 and Ohio State blasting Ball State 56-3.
This matchup will be the third in three seasons for Ohio State and Texas. The Buckeyes have taken each of the last two, winning the season opener last year 14-7 and then beating the Longhorns in the College Football Playoff semifinals two years ago before advancing to defeat Notre Dame in the national championship game.
Ahead of Saturday’s showdown, Texas star wide receiver Cam Coleman had a pretty direct message for the Buckeyes.
Cam Coleman comments on the Ohio State Buckeyes
Coleman was asked what Ohio State can expect from Texas this week. He had just a few simple words for them.
“We’re coming, we’re coming,” Coleman said.

Texas did not have Coleman last year, and he presents a new challenge for the Buckeyes as a proven 6-foot-3 target at Arch Manning’s disposal. Coleman was a big transfer portal addition for the Longhorns last winter out of Auburn, and he’s expected to be a first-round NFL draft pick next April. He had three catches, 70 receiving yards, and two touchdowns against Texas State in the opener. He’s going to be a real problem for Ohio State to deal with.
You can expect Ohio State cornerbacks Devin Sanchez and Jermaine Mathews Jr. to both see time up against Coleman on Saturday.
Comments like these aren’t really needed, and they could be used against Texas after the game if the Buckeyes take care of business. Don’t expect too many comments to come out from Ohio State’s side.
A year ago it was Texas pass rusher Colin Simmons who was talking before the game about sacking Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin, and that never happened.
