The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to see if they can tap into those Patrick Mahomes genes a bit. Well, kind of — they would like to see what Mahomes' brother can do on the football field.

No, I'm not talking about Jackson Mahomes, but another brother that Mahomes has that is less well-known. The Chiefs have invited Graham Walker to their rookie minicamp, earning him a chance to prove that he belongs in the NFL. And, not only that, but giving him a chance to play with his brother. The Chiefs also have a need in the tight end room when it comes to depth, or just any weapon at all that Mahomes could get the ball to.

Walker shares the same father as Patrick Mahomes, which is where the half-brother part comes from.

He played college football at Brown University from 2020 to 2023 as a wide receiver in the Ivy League. He earned Sophomore All-American honors from HERO Sports and the Phil Steele FCS Ivy League Rookie of the Year award. At Brown, he totaled 127 receptions, 1,496 yards, and 15 touchdowns over three seasons.

In 2023, he transferred to Rice University, switching to tight end to improve his NFL potential, but had a quieter season with 24 catches for 252 yards and no touchdowns. He was named an All-American Athletic Conference honorable mention. At 6’3” and 215–230 pounds, Graham has the size and skills for both wide receiver and tight end, describing himself as a tight end with receiver abilities.

If Walker were to make the team, can you imagine the type of story that would be? And if he was to play in the regular season, and actually catch passes from Mahomes, or even touchdowns, could you imagine that story?

He's got to prove his worth first.
