Nobody has a bigger distrust with kickers than the Minnesota Vikings fanbase.

It's been going on for years and years. From the Gary Anderson missed field goal in 1998 to Doug Brien missing two extra points in a regular season game in 2002, Blair Walsh kicking it wide left in the ice-cold wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks, and who could forget the Daniel Carlson disaster in the tie at Lambeau Field.

Sunday afternoon brought a lot more of those feelings with Will Reichard's tough day.

Will Reichard's tough day brings up injury questions

Reichard has missed time with injuries this season. He injured the quadriceps muscle in his kicking leg against the Indianapolis Colts and was subsequently placed on injured reserve.

There were some questions about whether or not Reichard might still be hurt after missing the 57-yard field goal when he's had the leg to clear 60 at times this year.

On Tuesday, special teams coordinator Matt Daniels cleared the air on that.

"The 57-yarder, he just got under. I mean, it was a really a good hit. He just kind of got under a little bit. So it ended up kind of falling short, right there.  But no, he's not injured at all. He's perfectly fine. So, there's no excuses there in terms of injury being the reason why he missed that field goal and missed a 57 yarder, anything like that. He's perfectly fine and healthy."

The collective Vikings fanbase can now breathe a sigh of relief with that information. Kickers will often mishit a kick and that can happen from time to time.

The other miss that Reichard had was was from 43 yards out and Daniels explained that i was just a miscalculation.

"And then on the 43 yarder, he just got to, kind of trust his line. He felt good about the hit, kind of talking to him after it happened. It just ended up kind of drawing a little bit on him. And he has a natural drawing all the balls that he does hit. He just got to trust that line right there, understand where he's headed at, coming off of that left hash and feel good about it. But it was a nice, good, clean hit. Just kind of drew on a little bit the last second leg is fine. There's no issue there."

Only time will tell if there are going to be more issues with the kicking game, but things certainly feel better now than they did on Sunday.
