The Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off a huge win in the Rose Bowl and are headed to the Cotton Bowl for their next challenge. But former Ohio State stars have more reason to celebrate after New Year's Day as the NFL released its initial 2025 Pro Bowl roster.
Four Buckeyes made the NFL Pro Bowl roster and more could be coming after injury replacements and drop outs are announced. The 2025 NFL Pro Bowl is dominated by the Baltimore Ravens (nine), Detroit Lions (seven), Minnesota Vikings (six), Philadelphia Eagles (six), Kansas City Chiefs (five) and Dallas Cowboys (five) are the other teams with at least five Pro Bowlers.
Here are the Buckeyes who made the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl.
Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders
Stats: 74 receptions, 1,034 yards, 12 TDs
Terry McLaurin seemed to be trending downward after playing with Sam Howell in 2023, but Jayden Daniels brought the man they call F1 back to life. The 29-year-old enters Week 18 on pace to set his third-best season over six years, but this is only his second Pro Bowl.
His 12 touchdowns is a new career-high, though, and he's not far off his bet paces. What makes McLaurin unique is his big-play ability. The speedster ranks seventh in deep targets, 10th in unrealized air yards, 12th in average depth of target, and ninth in EPA.
Nick Bosa, EDGE, San Francisco 49ers
Stats: 9 sacks, 52 tackles, 1 INT (13 games)
Despite missing a month of games, Nick Bosa was again nominated to a Pro Bowl. It's his fifth, largely because he was an effervescent presence in the backfield each week. PFF has Bosa with the fifth-most quarterback pressures, fourth-highest pressure rate, and fourth-best win rate.
With 62 career sacks and only 27 years old, Bosa is on a good pace to hit the magical 100 sack number at some point in his career. He'll need to stay healthy, though, as his pace has dipped since his magical 2022 season with 18.5 finishes.
Denzel Ward, CB, Cleveland Browns
Stats: 48 tackles, 2 INTs, 19 pass breakups
Making his fourth Pro Bowl, Denzel Ward has justified Cleveland's continued patience with his string of injuries. Ward rewarded Cleveland with a fantastic season, leading the NFL in pass breakups. It's a little surprising Ward was recognized considering Cleveland's lack of team success and his low interception total, but it was justified.
Of the 49 corners who allowed at least 431 yards, no defender allowed a lower rate of completion than Ward's 53.5%. Only three others had higher average depths of target, and his 93-yard completion greatly skewed a lot of his stats. His 86.3 QB rating allowed showed that Ward wasn't a complete lockdown presence but certainly held his own and was a major asset for the Browns.
Cameron Heyward, DL, Pittsburgh Steelers
Stats: 8 sacks, 70 tackles, 8 pass deflections
To make a Pro Bowl in Year 14 at 35 years old is truly incredible. This might be Cameron Heyward's final year in the NFL, but he appears able to go until he's 40. After a down 2023 season where he dealt with injuries, Heyward rebounded with his seventh Pro Bowl in the last eight years.
Ranking third in QB pressures, fourth in pressure rate, and fifth in win rate, Heyward is still an elite anchor for the Steelers.
