The Oklahoma Sooners will soon start to gear up for the 2026 recruiting class, one that currently only has three players committed, according to On3. Two of those are three stars, and one is a four-star. So, the Sooners have some work to do.

I know what some are thinking — the 2025 season hasn't even started yet when 2024 is basically still going with the National Championship on Monday. But, recruiting in college football never stops. The Sooners need to start gathering some commitments from some of the top players in the country.

And, for all we know, they could soon land one of the best defensive linemen in the country for the 2026 class. But of course, in today's world, they could also very well be a team that he doesn't even consider.

Oklahoma Sooners could land Valdin Sone in 2026 class

Valdin Sone is originally from Sweden with Cameroonian roots. Sone's early athletic life was centered around soccer, taekwondo, and ju-jitsu, giving him a diverse skill set. His transition to American football became notable after he relocated to the United States, where he quickly distinguished himself at Blue Ridge School in St. George, Virginia.

Sone has achieved recognition for his talent, notably being chosen for the prestigious All-American Bowl. At 6-5 and 287 pounds, his combination of size, agility, and strength makes him a daunting opponent on the football field. He has attracted offers from top-tier programs including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and LSU.

Oklahoma also falls on that list, and while they are not the favorite to land him, they very well could. They have one of the best defensive lines in the country for the 2025 season, and that could only reign true for 2026 as well. That could be enticing to a young player — seeing Oklahoma prove to have such a good defense, will only put eyes on you.

Sone has a choice to make, and Oklahoma could be it.
