This last offseason, 2024 that was, was one that saw the Oklahoma Sooners really fight for the future of the program. They brought in some really nice players that can be the future of the program based on what we know about them now, and what the team is hoping they turn into.

They had a lot of big wins, even though they only finished with a top 12-ish recruiting class, depending on where you look. But, the stars don't always tell the truth, and they certainly don't always tell the whole story. We have seen plenty of five-star guys not pan out. What matters most is the Sooners have guys that fit their culture and program.

One of those guys from the jump just so happened to be a five-star, a guy that a lot of people thought would flip to Texas but stayed loyal.

Sooners excited about Michael Fasusi

Michael Fasusi was the Sooners' biggest win in 2024, and they are confident in him heading into 2025.

“Yeah, it was a great win for our team, our locker room, and certainly our position group," Brent Venables said on REF. "It's a great fit for us and certainly is for Mike. Mike is somebody who has a true blue-collar mindset. He’s about development.

"He's incredibly passionate about football. If he's not in church with family, he's watching football, or in the weight room. He really fits in with our culture and is a very important piece to what we are building with this roster.”

The Sooners really struggled this year on the offensive line in both the run and the pass game. They weren't healthy, sure, but they weren't great when they were healthy. A better scheme will help that, but also getting better players in will as well. Fasusi won't be a player that will be a star right away, but he's a serviceable starter, from everything we have heard.

They are confident in him even as he's about to be a freshman. It will be interesting to see how that first year goes.
