Per a report from NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs will start Joe Thuney at left tackle during their AFC divisional round matchup against the Houston Texans.

Coach Andy Reid has played it coy over the last two weeks in regards to if he would start Thuney or D.J. Humphries as the Chiefs begin their third consecutive championship pursuit. With Humphries injuring his hamstring in Week 14, the Chiefs decided to switch Thuney from left guard to left tackle.

Thuney held it down for the next three weeks, and played very well. Kansas City could have opted to go back to Wanya Morris or rookie Kingsley Suamataia, but both had their struggles throughout the season. Humphries returned in Week 18 and started against the Denver Broncos, but produced mixed results.

Humphries is a veteran and a true left tackle, but he's only played two games over the past year and has been with the Chiefs for just over a month. K.C.'s offensive line has easily been at it's best with Thuney at left tackle, surrendering only one sack during those three games

Taking Thuney's place at guard has been Mike Caliendo, who has also played admirably. If for whatever reason Thuney or Caliendo struggle to hold up, the Chiefs can always shuffle things around and get Humphries back into the mix. They will face a ferocious Texans pass rush on Saturday, which ranked fourth in the NFL in sacks during the regular season with 49.
