Alabama is preparing to welcome two highly regarded transfer portal running backs this Friday, according to On3. After visiting Florida State, Rahsul Faison from Utah State and Dre’Lyn Washington from Louisiana will be in Tuscaloosa.
Faison originally planned to visit Georgia on Friday but also has upcoming trips to Utah and North Carolina scheduled. He began his visit to Florida State on Wednesday and will conclude it on Thursday, stepping into a significant role for the Seminoles as they lose their leading rusher, Lawrance Toafili.
Meanwhile, Washington will spend the entire day in Alabama on Friday and will leave on Saturday. He has a packed schedule from 8:45 A.M. to 7:30 P.M. So far, Washington has mostly been in touch with running backs coach Robert Gillespie.
Washington, who is coming in as a redshirt junior, played for three seasons with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, accumulating 1,343 yards on 229 carries, averaging 5.9 yards per attempt. As a redshirt sophomore, he recorded 478 yards on 73 carries (6.5 yards per attempt) along with five touchdowns.
Following his visit to Alabama, Washington plans to head to West Virginia on January 5. He is also considering a trip to Cal, although the date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Washington has previously visited Arkansas State and Coastal Carolina.
Although he hasn’t received an offer yet, that could change soon.
Alabama recently saw running back Justice Haynes enter the transfer portal, with a likely move to Michigan. The Crimson Tide may still bring back Jam Miller, who rushed for 668 yards and seven touchdowns this past season.
