I believe that confidence is well-placed based on what we saw Saturday. Outside of his sliding technique, what more could Russell have done? He looked poised within the pocket. He made plays out of structure. He threw the football at all three levels of the field. He negotiated the pass rush effectively. For a debut performance, it was about as clean as you could ask for.
Coleman-Williams showed his ceiling too
Ryan Coleman-Williams had a couple of bad drops early, and there’s no getting around that. He has to clean those up.
