Following Saturday night's game, you would never know the Pittsburgh Steelers are headed to the playoffs.

Losers of four straight, the sky is falling in Pittsburgh as it looks like another one and done season is in store.

But for all of the things that went wrong in the season finale, none stood out more than George Pickens, who somehow escaped the postgame media topics in Mike Tomlin's presser:

Mike Tomlin not asked about George Pickens bad showing

One of, if not the worst showing of his career, Pickens caught one pass for a grand total of zero yards on six targets. Oh, but he did have three drops and attempted to fight a set of Steelers fans:

For whatever reason, the lack of targets, drops, and most recent set of antics wasn't in play for the media in terms of their questioning of Mike Tomlin. His QB Russell Wilson, who many are questioning as the starter for next week's playoff game did have something to say about Pickens struggles, however:

"I believe in George [Pickens], Russell Wilson said after the game. "Everything's not always perfect for everyone. This is an imperfect game. I believe in George. I believe in who he is, the player that he is. He's been a star for us all season. And you know, he's gonna be a difference maker for us in the playoffs. I'm looking forward to that and what he can do, what we can do together. I'm not blinking on George, if anybody believes in him, I definitely do…

"…I think that great players, you know, sometimes, it doesn't go their way that day," Russ added on Pickens. "You know, you go to the ballpark, and sometimes it doesn't go your way. "But if anybody believes in George I do. I have no no hesitation to throw the football to him. What he can do and what he means to us and our football team and the rest of the guys too… I mean, I think all of our guys, we trust and [know] what he can do."

If the Steelers have any shot at beating the Baltimore Ravens or Houston Texans next week, it will take a career day from Pickens, not one of his worst. So whatever problems he has with targets, or the fans, or his QB, had better be sorted out and fast, or this Steelers season is going to mirror ones from the past decade.
