The Los Angeles Chargers have added another weapon on offense just days ahead of their first playoff matchup against the Houston Texans.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports that the Chargers are signing former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

"Zeke wanted a chance to compete for a Super Bowl and will add valuable experience to the Bolts' offense," Schultz wrote.

The Chargers already have two talented running backs on their roster in J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. But signing Elliott is just another piece of the puzzle that the Texans will have to try and prepare for.

Plus, if anyone's determined right now, it's Elliott.

The running back began his career with the Cowboys, being drafted in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he was the NFL's rushing yards leader along with being named to the Pro Bowl and earning first-team All-Pro honors.

Throughout his career, he has been named to the Pro Bowl three times, and has been the NFL's rushing yards leaders twice.

After seven years with the Cowboys, Elliott left and joined the New England Patriots for the 2023 season. However, he returned back to Dallas this past year.

But, at the end of December, the running back was granted his release from the Cowboys, wanting the opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl.

And now he has one, with former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh taking a chance on the former Ohio State star. (Got to love how that worked out.)

So, let's see if Elliott can help the Chargers make a run over the next few weeks. And it will all start on Saturday against the Texans.
