There has been a lot of talk recently about who is the right man for the Pittsburgh Steelers QB job against the Baltimore Ravens.

After dropping four in a row and showing a lot of regression, QB Russell Wilson has come under fire, with many wanting to go back to Justin Fields

But for Fields, he isn't planning on going anywhere, leaving some to speculate if it's his job in waiting.

Justin Fields Wants to Stay in Pittsburgh

“I want to be here,” Fields told TribLive. “I’m kind of tired of learning a new offense every year. This will be my third in four years. Of course I’d love to be back, but that’s all up to God at the end of the day. I’ll be where God wants me to be.”

That's a strong stance from a 25-year-old signal caller who while not staring down a massive pay day, is going to have his fair share of suitors given the football he played early on this season and his impending free agency.

As far as his usage this week, Mike Tomlin wouldn't rule out the return of Fields to the lineup. He's unlikely to take over for Russell Wilson in terms of starting the game, but Tomlin may have a quick trigger if Wilson starts slow, and even if he doesn't, using Fields in situational packages could be on the table as well.

"I'm certainly open to utilizing Justin," said Coach Tomlin on Monday. "He has an awesome skill set. We've done some of that in the past. We've done less of it in recent weeks, he experienced an injury, so a couple of weeks back, that slowed some of that. But certainly in an effort to win this game, I am open to any combination or combinations of the division of labor in an effort to do so, and so I'm certainly open to that as we develop plans this week, it did seem to spark the offense."

As for Fields himself, he hasn't received any inclination of a higher usage rate, but he might be playing coy.

"Of course. Always preparing the same. You guys know that. Always preparing like I'm playing. So if my number's called, I'll be ready to go," said Fields on Tuesday.

As Coach Tomlin said, a spark is what Fields has provided in the past, and it might be what the Steelers stick with in the future.
