The Kansas City Chiefs could be gearing up to lose more than their offensive and defensive coordinator to other teams this offseason.

Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi has interviewed with the New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans for their general manager vacancies. With first-round interviews coming to a close for several teams, Borgonzi has officially made it through to second-round interviews with one club.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Borgonzi will be brought back for a second-round interview with the Titans, who just fired Ran Carthon after two seasons.

NFL Media says that six executives are finalists for the general manager position in Tennessee. A to Z Sports' Easton Freeze shared the full list:

That's still some tough competition for Borgonzi, who is in the midst of his 16th season with Kansas City in 2024. Where he might have the competition beat is the sheer number of roles that he has held during his time in Kansas City. He's had six different roles during his rise to his current position.

Borgonzi has served under and survived three different Chiefs regimes. He joined Scott Pioli as a College Scouting Administrator in 2009. Under John Dorsey, he served as Assistant Director of Pro Scouting and Co-Director of Player Personnel. In 2017, following Brett Veach's promotion to General Manager, Borgonzi became a full-time Director of Player Personnel. He was promoted to Director of Football Operations in 2020 and then became the team's assistant General Manager in 2021.

Whether Borgonzi will run his own operation in 2025 remains to be seen, but his making it to the second round of interviews in Tennessee suggests that he will likely get the opportunity sooner rather than later.
