Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7 round 2025 NFL mock draft rebuilds defense to boost Baker Mayfield and the offense
I feel for fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right now. On the heels of one of the hottest offenses in the NFL, they won the NFC South, made the playoffs, and barely lost in the Wild Card Round off of a doinked-in field goal. The defense couldn't generate any stops throughout the season, and […]
I feel for fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right now. On the heels of one of the hottest offenses in the NFL, they won the NFC South, made the playoffs, and barely lost in the Wild Card Round off of a doinked-in field goal.
The defense couldn't generate any stops throughout the season, and ultimately, it bit them again in the playoffs. Amidst some turmoil in the fanbase and rumors of a coaching change, the Buccaneers are at a crossroads for the team's future. Where can they go from here in the 2025 NFL draft to win the division for a fifth straight time?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7 round 2025 NFL mock draft
Round 1, Pick 19: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina
We all saw how Tampa Bay's cornerbacks have performed all season. Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum were picked on frequently throughout. Tampa Bay needs a real playmaker in the secondary.
Shavon Revel Jr. is coming off of an injury, but he will be ready to go over the summer. Revel is a long, athletic ballhawk who fits what the Buccaneers have prioritized at the position over the years.
Round 2, Pick 53: Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA
Lavonte David seems on the verge of retirement. Even if he returns, the rest of the Buccaneers' linebacking room played poorly all year and is set to hit free agency. They desperately need an overhaul of talent in that room.
Carson Schwesinger is one of the best linebacker prospects in this class, with terrific athleticism and instincts. He can start Day One in the NFL.
Round 3, Pick 84: Josaiah Stewart, EDGE, Michigan
The Buccaneers had trouble covering downfield, but part of their issue was an inconsistent pass rush. Yaya Diaby was a productive pass rusher for the team, but the rest of their edge rushers left much to be desired. To make it worse, Anthony Nelson and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka are set to be free agents.
Josaiah Stewart is small, but he's explosive off of the line of scrimmage and gets into the backfield in a hurry. Pair that with a good set of pass rush moves, and Stewart projects to be an effective sub-package rusher at the next level.
Round 4, Pick 119: Hunter Wohler, SAF, Wisconsin
The Buccaneers have tried to settle the safety spot opposite of Antoine Winfield Jr., but between Jordan Whitehead, Mike Edwards, Christian Izien, and Kaevon Merriweather, nobody has seemingly settled the role.
Hunter Wohler is an instinctive and tough safety who flies around the field. He's one of the best run-defending safeties in this class who would help reinforce Tampa's secondary.
Round 5, Pick 156: Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Tampa Bay has Vita Vea plugging the middle, but with Greg Gaines and William Gholston set to hit free agency, they need to build the beef up along their defensive line.
Ty Hamilton is a forgotten name in the Ohio State defensive line with all the top-end talent around him, but he is a key cog in the Buckeyes boasting the best defense in college football this season.
Round 7, Pick 235: DeShawn Pace, LB, UCF
I'm of the opinion the Buccaneers should go all-in on the defensive side of the ball in the draft. I would hammer multiple picks into this linebacker room, given all the departures they face and the obvious need at the position.
DeShawn Pace is undersized, but he is a talented coverage linebacker who can be a contributor in subpackages and on special teams.
Carolina Panthers 7 round 2025 NFL mock draft shores up defense after Bryce Young's breakout
The Carolina Panthers finished a disappointing season with a glimmer of hope. Despite major investments into the offense last offseason, more work must be done. The rebuild continues. A major part of the process will be the 2025 NFL Draft. With quarterback Bryce Young playing better as this season has progressed, the Panthers can confidently […]
