Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman John Henderson was announced on Wednesday as one of the newest members of the College Football Hall of Fame. 

Henderson played at Tennessee under Phillip Fulmer from 1998 to 2001. 

The Nashville native was a two-time All-SEC first team member and he won The Outland Trophy in 2000. 

Henderson was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft. He spent 10 seasons in the NFL and was elected to two Pro Bowls. 

The former Vol is well-known to football fans for his pregame ritual of getting slapped in the face. 

Henderson is the 23rd Tennessee player to be elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. He's the Vols' 27th member overall of the College Football of Hame.
