The Tennessee Vols have only made four additions to their roster via the NCAA transfer portal this offseason. One of those additions, however, was named by 247Sports this week as one of the top 25 most impactful transfer additions in the SEC for the 2025 season.

247Sports recently ranked the top 25 most impactful SEC transfer signees ahead of the 2025 season and they ranked Vols offensive line transfer addition Sam Pendleton at No. 25.

Pendleton transferred from Notre Dame to Tennessee last month after the Fighting Irish lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff championship game.

From 247Sports: One of three Notre Dame starters who left for the portal after finishing runner-up to Ohio State in the national championship game, Pendleton will be an instant-starter with the Vols.

Pendleton, a former four-star recruit who spent the first two seasons of his carer at Notre Dame, is expected to start at either guard or center for the Volunteers in 2025.

The North Carolina native started seven games at guard for Notre Dame in 2024 and he was the team's backup center late in the season (Pendleton also received reps at center during spring practice last year).

Pendleton comes to Tennessee after allowing zero sacks on 254 pass blocking snaps in 2024.

Tennessee also added Arizona guard Wendell Moe, Duke running back Star Thomas, and Alabama wide receiver Amari Jefferson via the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.

The Vols could look to make more transfer additions during the spring transfer portal window.
