The Kansas City Chiefs during the Patrick Mahomes era have been nothing short of special.  Historic even, if they can find a way to knock off the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Super Bowl LIX to become the first-ever franchise to win three straight championships.

Four Super Bowls thus far with three wins for Kansas City since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starter in 2018.  Of course, the one time that Mahomes didn't walk off the field in the Super Bowl as a champion came at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as many Bucs fans love to point out on social media when it comes to the debate between Mahomes and Tom Brady.

The 31-9 win in Super Bowl LV saw the Bucs defense give Mahomes nightmares. Something that he loses sleep over.  No really, his words.

Mahomes was asked about the loss that keeps him up at night, and the Chiefs' superstar had no doubts.

Mahomes' performance in Super Bowl LV was the only outlier of his time in the game's biggest event.  He's delivered three Super Bowl titles with three incredible fourth quarter/overtime comebacks.  But not in Tampa on February 7, 2021.

The Bucs defense harassed Mahomes for most of the contest, forcing him out of the pocket and putting him in bad spots.  He completed just 26 of 49 attempts for 270 yards with 2 interceptions and was sacked three times. It was the only time of his playoff career that his offense did not find the end zone.

To his credit, he still pulled off some Mahomes-like moments, including one of the most ridiculous throws you'll ever see, even if it was incomplete.

In the end, Brady and the Buccaneers celebrated as the first Super Bowl champions to win it all in their own building, as Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Chiefs shuffled off the field amid the celebration.

It's a blemish on an otherwise stellar career. A moment that still eats at Mahomes.

Something that comes at no surprise to Tampa Bay fans.
