The 2025 Senior Bowl is upon us this week, and the saying goes "The Draft Begins in Mobile".

It certainly feels that way, as the NFL community descends on Mobile, Alabama this week.

The linebacker class is a tricky one to sift through this year. With plenty of opt outs from the Senior Bowl, the linebacker room isn't exactly eye-catching on first glance. However, there are some intriguing options, including some elite athletes who are headlining the group.

Demetrius Knight leads the room

It's pretty evident that South Carolina's Demetrius Knight is the best player in this room heading into the Senior Bowl. He's an unbelievable mover with tremendous range and pursuit speed.

Knight broke out this year as one of the leaders of the South Carolina defense as one of the best linebackers in the country, and he should carry that stock into the Senior Bowl. Look for him to pop in every drill throughout the week.

Can Smael Mondon iron out his inconsistency?

Georgia linebacker Smael Mondon is one of the more frustrating watches in this linebacker class. He's a tremendous athlete with some of the most explosive movement skills in the class, but he can get caught up on misdirections and eye candy, leaving him out of position.

While he won't be able to completely prove he's over these in practice, he can show coaches and scouts that he is improving in this area.

Will the converted safeties shine?

Southern Illinois' Keondre Jackson and Syracuse's Justin Barron are collegiate safeties who the Senior Bowl is placing in with the linebackers in this room.

Keondre Jackson is a hard-hitting prospect who plays with his hair on fire, filling in the run fits with almost reckless abandon. He'll make a few highlight plays popping players in the run defense drills.

Justin Barron is a former wide receiver turned defensive back. Barron has all the makings of a special teams ace at the next level with over 1,000+ snaps on special teams at the next level.
