The Denver Broncos had a magical 2024 season — one that gave fans hope again. After a playoff drought that dated back to 2015, their Super Bowl win, they were able to make the postseason with a rookie quarterback, and almost no weapons for him to throw to outside of a few guys here and there.
That's what has elevated the Broncos to a status that they hadn't been at for a long time. And, they have really brought hope back to the fans. But it shouldn't stop there. This is one of the most historical franchises in the NFL, with great owners who are more than willing to spend money, and a great head coach who continues to assemble an amazing staff year after year, even if some of them take higher jobs at different teams.
Heck, for all we know, we could see defensive coordinator Vance Joseph with another team next year, as he's taken interviews with several teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders. But, if that were to happen, Payton would have a staff ready. This team is ready to get better. They know what they are, and they know what they can be.
"Yeah, specifically, I think there's some backside cutoff things that I can continue to get better at," Meinerz told Denver Sports' Andrew Mason. "I think mid-snap communication can be another one. And I think there's always refinement in the pass-protection game that that could be had… 10 games [won] is great. Being in the playoffs is great. But this team can be much more than a seven seed."
And, he's not wrong, this team can certainly be better than a seventh seed next year. They need to address a lot of things, specifically, the offense, get Bo Nix more weapons, and the secondary, where they could use some depth. And, that's not all, there are plenty of areas they could get better.
And, the large belief is that they will.

It’s a great problem to have.
