On3's Pete Nakos predicted on Thursday that Tennessee will land Notre Dame Fighting Irish transfer offensive lineman Sam Pendleton.
Pendleton entered the transfer portal on Wednesday, just two days after Notre Dame's loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national championship game.
VolQuest's Austin Price reported on Thursday morning that Pendleton had scheduled a visit with Tennessee.
Pendleton started seven games at left guard for Notre Dame in 2024 before getting pushed to a backup role late in the season.
Tennessee could possibly be losing both starting guards from their 2024 team. Right guard Javontez Spraggins is out of eligibility and will be moving on the NFL. Left guard Andrej Karic is hoping to return to Tennessee in 2025 if the NCAA will approves his injury waiver (which is up in the air).
The Vols landed Arizona transfer guard Wendell Moe earlier this offseason.
Tennessee is also losing center Cooper Mays this offseason.
Interestingly, Pendleton repped at center for Notre Dame last spring. He was also listed as Notre Dame's backup center late in the season.
