The Las Vegas Raiders had one secret weapon, although it wasn't much of a secret as everyone knew it, on their side during the hiring process for both the general manager and head coach positions. We heard that this was the only reason Ben Johnson even considered the Raiders gig before becoming the Chicago Bears head coach.

Now, we for sure know that this secret weapon, if you will, is a huge reason the Raiders were able to land one of the greatest football coaches of all time in Pete Carroll, and one of the hottest names in the league when it comes to general manager candidates, John Spytek.

That "secret weapon" is, of course, Tom Brady, who was doing an awful lot of work during these interviews. And, while we all knew, because of common sense, that he would help the Raiders land some big names, the two new guys mentioned his name a handful of times during their introductory press conference.

"When Mark figured out how to put Tom Brady in this mix and bring that kind of value into it, Mark made a great move… He's been intricately involved, he has been a really exciting part of it. It's exciting to me because he's one of the greatest competitors that has ever lived. But this is his opportunity to put his stamp on a franchise," Carroll said.

Brady, while he is still keeping his broadcast career alive as he plans to call the Super Bowl in two weeks with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles going for a rematch, has been a tremendous help, and appears to possibly have a future as a front office general manager or even president.

If we are going to trust anyone's evaluations over anything, let's trust the smartest guy to ever play. I think he made the right decision in hiring Carroll and Spytek.
