The Oklahoma Sooners are actively shaping their 2026 recruiting class, already securing commitments from some of the nation's top high school talents. They've locked in four-star quarterback Jaden O'Neal from Narbonne High School in California, four-star wide receiver Daniel Odom from St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower, CA), four-star tight end Ryder Mix from Frisco Lone Star High School in Texas, and three-star offensive lineman Will Conroy from St. Ignatius High School (Cleveland, OH). These commitments signal a robust start to what could be a formidable class for Oklahoma.

The Sooners' recruitment drive doesn't end with these commitments. They're in the race for more standout prospects, including four-star safety Da'Quives Beck, who has planned visits to various SEC schools, including Oklahoma, and a few other big-time names.

Head coach Brent Venables and his staff are known for their relentless recruiting efforts, aiming to attract both in-state and national talents to build a dynamic team. They don't just recruit Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Arkansas. They recruit states like Florida and California as well.

Oklahoma's strategy appears to focus first on securing essential offensive talents before broadening their recruitment to include defensive players and other positions. And, they should be doing that after seeing how bad their offense was last season. They need all the help they can get on that side of the ball.

Now, around June, they will be set to visit with a player who could really help fix their offensive line.

Sooners set to visit with Chance Barclay

Chance Barclay played for the Princeton Tigers at Princeton Senior High School in West Virginia. In the 2024 season, he played in several important games, including playoff matches. His team had a strong season, winning 12 games in a row before losing 12-35 to Hoover in the state championship.

The Sooners used to have elite offensive lines. Last year was bad, so, this year they are trying to bring in as many key pieces as they can for the 2026 class. Barclay would be one of them.
