No one, including HC Kalen DeBoer, was happy with how the 2024 season went for the Alabama Crimson Tide

But many in the fanbase were already about to jump ship following just one season under his guidance.

Well, his former starting TE turned pro has a message for those people…

CJ Dippre Defends Kalen DeBoer

"I mean it's tough to build a program up in one year, not that we were building up, said Dippre when asked why Tide fans should still be optimistic about Kalen DeBoer at the 2025 senior bowl. "It was a program that was already built up but people have to realize that stuff happens…

"…Either freshman flip or people flip or we were;t getting the transfers in when the change happened between coaches so I think coach [DeBoer] did a great job. I think it's going to be better coming through, but I think for the first season…it was a solid year.

For the Tide, 2025 has to be a year of improvement. The problem is teams like Georgia and Texas are going nowhere, Ole Miss will be back and the Flordia Gators are on the rise.

Not to mention the Tide are losing key players like Jalen Milroe, Tyler Booker, and even Dippre are all heading to the NFL draft. That leaves questions at the QB position for the first time in a while in Tuscaloosa with many believing the team's best hopes could rely on true freshman Keelon Russell.

But more than the losses in 2024, it was everything surrounding the Tide that had many worried about the team's direction. You saw leaders like Malachi Moore throwing temper tantrums, and seasoned players having personal fouls at the most in opportune times.

That led many to wonder where the discipline had gone by the wayside at Alabama and if things had changed for the worse.

But that much is to be determined. The product has to be better on the field and in the locker room, or else Kalen DeBoer's hot seat will reach a boiling point.
