When the Senior Bowl week began there was certainly some debate as to who the top quarterbacks were participating. Not anymore. Jaxson Dart is the unquestioned QB1 at the Senior Bowl and is most certainly rising up the overall 2025 NFL Draft board.

The quarterback play here in Mobile, Alabama this week has largely been unimpressive, but Dart is the lone exception. From dropping the ball into a bucket in one-on-one sessions, to driving the ball through tight traffic in 11-on-11, Dart has looked sharp. So much so that he's impressed draft experts like Louis Riddick of ESPN (who should probably be an NFL general manager right now).

"Jaxson Dart is talented enough to do all the things that they ask him to do at the NFL level. And he has enough mental horsepower to be able to absorb all of this information and then use it in real time. And it's getting better, and better, and better. And when it's clean, when [Dart] is sure what the call is, and everyone's doing their job you see him do the kind of things that he would do at Ole Miss. And that's why he's the all-time passing leader in Ole Miss history. He can push the ball wherever you need it. And he can do all the things that you need an NFL caliber quarterback to do. And I expect that to continue to get better [this week and beyond]."

When I met with Jaxson Dart after practice on the second day of Senior Bowl practices he shared with me that despite all the noise about Lane Kiffin's scheme being so different than pro offenses the only real difference was the terminology. Several NFL Draft analysts try to make too big of a deal about Lane Kiffin's scheme (with high play action and RPO usage) setting Jaxson Dart up for success. Dart himself was the one executing on every single play, leading the nation in several meaningful statistics this past season.

As practices have progressed, Dart continues to impress, threading the needle when he has to and using nice touch when that's appropriate as well. Take for example his beautifully placed ball to Clemson tight end Jake Briningstool as practices were set to end on Wednesday. Dart put the ball high and away where only his 6'6" target could grab the reception. That kind of ball placement has been prevalent from Dart all week.

Jaxson Dart is just simply the obvious QB1 at the Senior Bowl.

Jalen Milroe has struggled with accuracy. Riley Leonard has somehow leaned into scrambling even in a practice setting instead of making many difficult throws. Dillon Gabriel has clicked on everything underneath, but not many deeper shots. Dart is just head and shoulders above the field.

Dart continues impressing both on and off the field, answering any and every question his critics might have. After the Senior Bowl Dart is going to be widely considered the QB3 in the class, and if the national sentiment echoes what we have heard here in Mobile, he's going to finish much closer to QB2 than QB4 in the 2025 NFL Draft.
