Raiders can find a perfect replacement at safety in the Senior Bowl if they can't bring back one of two free agents

Going into this 2025 offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders have around 25 total unrestricted free agents that they will have to make some decisions on. They won't bring back every single one, because that is unrealistic and let's face it, that would be dumb when this roster wasn't that great last season. And, with a different front office and head coach, we can assume there will be some change roster-wise.
But two of those free agents happen to be starting safeties. One is Tre'Von Moehrig, who has only played four seasons and has gotten better and better every single year. He is homegrown and will likely be the guy the Raiders do bring back if they decide to only bring one back. The other is Marcus Epps, who is older than Moehrig and is coming off of a torn ACL, which he suffered against the Carolina Panthers this last season.
They may move on from him for all we know. These are very tough decisions that have to be made. But, if that is the direction they decide to go, they will likely just make Isaiah Pola-Mao the starter. However, they will need to add some depth, and if they want to add some more depth at safety alongside guys like Trey Taylor and Chris Smith, there is a guy at the Senior Bowl right now who is taking off.
Raiders could draft replacement in Oklahoma safety Bill Bowman
The Senior Bowl is an all-star game for juniors and seniors to attend at the end of the college football season. This is the biggest all-star game for college football, and where a lot of NFL-ready players, and guys entering the NFL Draft will be. This is the week that NFL teams send scouts and even GMs and HCs to watch.
The Senior Bowl is where draft stocks start to rise, or even fall. And one guy who has his stock rising has to be Oklahoma safety Billy Bowman. He had a very impressive first day during one-on-ones against tight ends and wide receivers. Bowman had one of the best interceptions during day one, where he baited Jalen Milroe, and picked off the pass by the sideline.
His other big-time play was a pass breakup near the sideline that saw him explode out of nowhere to get his hands on the ball. Bowman is a small safety, frame-wise, but still has the physical ability and speed to play the position, or maybe even be a nickel guy at the next level.
His stock is rising now, and if the Raiders could grab him on day two, maybe in the third round, it would honestly be a great pick as Bowman has started and maybe even Pro Bowl potential.
2025 could see the Las Vegas Raiders finally making the right choice in the NFL Draft
The Raiders would do that in a heartbeat.
