The Pittsburgh Steelers and HC Mike Tomlin aren't exactly fans of the NFL right now.
Following a complete commission by an official who basically called the Steelers liars, many of the players have a right to feel wronged by the league.
One of them is George Pickens, who said what he had to say, and with his chest:
George Pickens Calls Out NFL
“But we got flagged. But y'all don’t think it’s a vendetta against the Steelers,” WR George Pickens said on social media while adding a throwing-up emoji.
The Steelers obviously had a right to be upset with the call on the field as the video shows clear as day that Philadelphia Eagles CB Darius Slay punches Steelers TE Darnell Washington.
It lead Mike Tomlin to voice his opinion on the matter after the game and again on Monday's address ahead of the Ravens game:
"Not a sufficient one," said HC Mike Tomlin when asked about the explanation he received from the officials regarding the one-sided penalties on Sunday. "I'll let them explain that sequence, why should I explain it?…
"…I didn't read the pool report because I saw it as it happened," added Tomlin on Monday. "And I hadn't had a chance to talk to New York because I've been so focused on what's going on with Baltimore in the present day."
The pool report was the most damaging part of the whole debacle, because instead of taking accountability and saying they missed the punch from Slay, they doubled down on their decision to only penalize the Steelers for the scuffle :
"No punches were observed on the field. Since we had flags down, it gave New York an opportunity to review the play as well. There was no video evidence of punches observed by the Philadelphia Eagles," said NFL referee Alan Eck in the postgame pool report that the officials submit for the teams and media to see.
Either way, it doesn't change the fact that Pittsburgh put up their worst offensive output in almost a decade and a half, mustering a mere 128 passing yards and showing no signs of life without WR George Pickens.
But a little consistency from the stripes would be nice, and I'm sure it's something that all Steelers fans would appreciate right about now.

Time will tell what they’re walking into.
