This season has been quite a ride for the New York Giants and their fans. Not only has the year been a failure, but drastic in-season changes have occurred.
The biggest, of course, is the Giants' decision not to wait until the offseason to part ways with starting quarterback Daniel Jones. This means this offseason will finally be the year the Giants reset at the QB position, and it sure looks like they are primed to do so in the upcoming NFL Draft.
While there are still three games left to be played for the Giants, the fanbase can't stop thinking about who the team could be targeting in the upcoming draft. So, let's go ahead and jump to the draft season with our first seven-round Giants mock draft of the year. To decide the order for the Giants selections, we used tankathon.com/nfl, in which they currently have the number two overall pick.
So, with the second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select…
Round 1:

2. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colarado
The big debate all offseason will be "Should the Giants draft Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward?" If the Giants finish with the first pick, this might be a decision they truly have to make, but if they end up staying put at pick two, they will likely only have one available to them. Here I have the Giants landing Sanders after the Las Vegas Raiders elected to choose Ward with the first pick. But Sanders could truly be the best fit for the Giants and has already gotten a head start throwing passes to star WR Malik Nabers.
Round 2:
34. Jonah Savaiinaea, OT, Arizona
After grabbing their new QB, the Giants have to prioritize protecting him. So, with their second pick, I have them selecting Arizona tackle Jonah Savaiinaea. The Giant's offensive line could use some significant shake-ups, and Savaiinaea's experience would be a perfect fit for them to do it. He has spent significant time at LT, RT, and RG during his college career, which would allow the Giants to make other moves around him to put the best five linemen on the field to protect Sanders going forward.
Round 3:

66. Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State
One of the most underrated corners and players in this year's class is Florida State's Azareye'h Thomas. I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he catapulted himself into the second round or even the late first during the upcoming draft cycle. But currently, many are projecting him to be in the third-fourth round range. During his three-year college career, his season high for yards allowed was in 2023, with only 297; in his other two seasons, he allowed less than 200 yards. His ability in coverage is truly impressive, and he should test out as a solid athlete come the combine and/or his pro day to catch some more teams' eyes.
Round 4:
103. Pat Bryant, WR, Illinois
Back to the offensive side of the ball with the Giants grabbing the big-bodied WR Pat Bryant out of Illinois. Bryant is 6'3" and was one of the best WRs in all of the Big 10 this past season. He finished the year setting his career high across the board with 54 receptions, 984 yards, and 10 touchdowns. His size and ability to high-point the football would greatly complement Nabers and his ability as a route runner. Even though this is a pick in the fourth round, I think Bryant would immediately compete for a starting job with the Giants.
Round 5:
153. Carson Vinson, OT, Alabama A&M
More help on the offensive line for the Giants with them adding Carson Vinson out of Alabama A&M. Small school prospect but not a small man with Vinson coming in just over 6'7". Vinson will likely need to add some weight before getting significant playing time at the pro level, but he has shown great intangibles at tackle that NFL teams will love.
Round 7:

Trade:
216. Jah Joyner, Edge, Minnesota
Last selection here for the Giants is Minnesota edge rusher Jah Joyner. Joyner had a standout season in 2023, with him setting his career highs with nine sacks and eight QB hits. This last season, we saw regression that has hurt his draft stock tremendously, as he was only able to record three sacks despite playing the most snaps of his career. He needs some coaching, but the flashes we saw in 2023 are in there. They just need to be improved and brought back to the forefront.
Trade:
Giants send picks 243 and 255 to the New England Patriots for pick 220
220. Shilo Sanders, S, Colarado
It's a Sanders family affair for the Giants, who make sure they land Shedeur's brother Shilo by packaging their final two seventh-rounders in a trade. Shilo has struggled in pass coverage, but his ability as a tackler in space should help him carve out a role on special teams, with the possibility of developing into a contributor on defense, where he has upside as a run defender.
Giants’ unpredictable quarterback situation takes another surprising turn
Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito have split starts
