The Kansas City Chiefs just can't seem to find a solution for their left tackle woes.

New Chiefs LT D.J. Humphries played 60 of 69 possible snaps in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers due to injury. He pulled a hamstring late in the game, and after being evaluated by the medical and training staff, he's slated to sit out of practice to start the week of preparation for the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid delivered the news on Wednesday ahead of practice.

"As far as people not practicing today, D.J. Humphries won't practice," Reid began. "We haven't listed him as out or anything there. We're just going to take it day by day and see how he does. Every day he's gotten a little bit better. We'll just see how it works."

It's good that he hasn't been ruled out yet, but Humphries was already short on practice time with Kansas City, and that was apparent in his first start in Week 14. To say this is a setback is probably an understatement because even if he gets healthy enough to play, he's missing valuable and much-needed practice repetitions.

Should Humphries be unable to play, Chiefs HC Andy Reid says he'll have similar options to prior weeks. These include Wanya Morris, Joe Thuney/Mike Caliendo (left tackle/left guard combination), and potentially even Kingsley Suamataia at left tackle.

"It'll be similar to last week," Reid said. "I've got a couple of variables I can do at that spot."

The worst possible week for more questions at left tackle for the Chiefs

Browns DE Myles Garrett is one of the NFL's premier pass-rushers, and he's Chief among the problems for Big Red's offense in Week 15. He's got 11 sacks on the season, which ranks second in the league. His 58 total pressures rank fourth in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

"He's a really good player," Reid said of Garrett. "Probably a future Hall of Famer, I'd say. He's a dominant player, and we recognize that and respect that. He's going to show up, and we're going to show up. We've got to play well against him and we have the capability of doing that. That's how I feel."

Garrett was already a matchup nightmare for Kansas City, but this further emphasizes a need to scheme, plan, and take him out of the game the best they possibly can through other means.
