One of the Tennessee Vols' top 2026 recruiting targets was named by 247Sports as one of the top performers at the first day of Under Armour All-America game practices in Orlando.
247Sports named 2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys as the "junior alpha dog" of the first day of practices.
From 247Sports: The Mississippi native is the only five-star wide receiver per 247Sports at this stage of the evaluation process, and looked the part of a future College Football Playoff contending WR1 through stretches of practice on Monday. Keys appears to have added solid weight to his 6-foot-2 frame while retaining the short area quickness and change of direction skills that make him a difficult cover. Keys flashed plenty throughout the session but had his best moments during the pass skeleton portion of the workout, making several tough snags at the edge of his catch radius that showcased his nearly 80-inch wingspan.
Keys, 6-foot-2/175 lbs from Hattiesburg, MS, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi. He's also rated as the No. 4 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
Tennessee is currently viewed as one of the favorites for Keys — On3's Chad Simmons predicted recently that the Vols will land the five-star recruit — but this recruiting battle will continue to play out into the spring, which means plenty can change over the next few months.
One thing working in Tennessee's favor is that 2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, a Vols commit since August, is working to recruit to Keys to Rocky Top. Brandon is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class (that's a recruiting pitch that holds some weight).
Tennessee badly needs to upgrade its wide receiver talent. And Keys is the type of player that has the talent to be successful against any defensive scheme in the country. If the Vols are going to truly compete for national championships, landing talented players like Keys is a must.
Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M are also in the mix for Keys.
