The Oklahoma Sooners are playing the Navy Midshipmen in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl. They have far more fans in attendance than Navy does, and being a few hours south in Fort Worth, Texas, helps, too. This game is being played at TCU's stadium, one that the Sooners are all too familiar with.
But, something happened before the game, and the Sooners somehow didn't catch it before they published it. Well, they could have recognized it and maybe it was done for a reason, but it certainly doesn't seem that way.
The Sooners were running onto the field, and their social media team snapped a picture of it. In that picture, you can see a tight end without an OU logo on his helmet. Now, this could be intentional, I don't know why it would be, but I'm willing to bet it's not.
Hopefully, the Sooners equipment team, or shooter, or even the player who put the helmet on, will notice that the helmet does not have a sticker on it.
The Sooners, despite the wardrobe malfunction, at least that's what we think it is, went up big on the Midshipmen quick. They started this game up 14-0 after a big run by Gavin Sawchuk for a touchdown, and a big-time throw by Hawkins to Zion Kearney for a touchdown.
They are cooking.
