The Birmingham Bowl began as an extremely competitive game early on between the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets and the Vanderbilt Commodores. After a field goal in the third quarter, Georgia Tech was able to cut the score to 14 to 13. It appeared this was going to be competitive until the end.

Then Commodore quarterback Diego Pavia kicked into overdrive, throwing three straight passing touchdowns to push the score to 35-13. Just like that, this bowl game turned into a blowout. To make matters even worse, there was a break in the action due to a rain delay. Georgia Tech had to suffer through the frustration even longer.

During the break, it appears that the players had access to their phones. Star Georgia Tech defensive tackle Zeek Biggers found his way to X, and voiced his frustration. In an original tweet that commented on Biggers getting held down the field, the 6-6, 320-pound behemoth replied, “They will do anything to try make Tech and Acc look bad 🤦🏾‍♂️,” clearly unhappy with the officiating.

That tweet from Biggers has since been deleted. It’s probably not how he wanted his last game to go, and expressing it on X in that moment also wasn’t the most wise decision.

It’s an unfortunate ending to what was a very good career for Biggers with the Yellowjackets. In four years, he collected 100 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, one sack, and seven pass breakups. A mountain in the middle, Biggers’ presence will surely be missed for the Georgia Tech defense.
