A Titans offseason plan might have just got shut down by Bengals QB Joe Burrow

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Titans fans looking ahead to the 2025 offseason probably already have a few big names in mind that they'd like to see wearing two-tone blue next season.
The pressure is going to be on the Titans' front office and coaching staff to build a winner. The good news is, the organization should have the resources to get it done.
Along with a projected Top 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Tennessee is sitting with $65 million in expected cap space. That's the 8th highest total in the NFL. It should allow the Titans to swing big for talented players at positions of need, and Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is a name that keeps coming up in the discourse.
Higgins was linked heavily to the Titans back in March before he was franchise tagged by the Bengals. He has flourished in Brian Callahan's offense before with Cincinnati and could be the perfect complimentary piece to Calvin Ridley.
It would make sense for Higgins to be looking for a long-term contract this time around. Where better to get it than Tennessee? He played his high school football just outside of Knoxville and would have the opportunity to not only return home, but reunite with a coach he had the best years of his career under.
Burrow confident Higgins will return
But this dream from Titans fans may have been shut down after Monday Night Football in Dallas. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow spoke to the media after the game and made some bold statements about Higgins' future with the Bengals and his motivation to keep him with the team.
"Those discussions are ongoing, but I'm confident that we're going to be able to do what it takes to bring Tee back," said Burrow. "I know that I'm going to do what it takes to get him back. So is [Tee]. We've had those talks."
Burrow could not seem more confident in Cincinnati's big three (Burrow, Chase, Higgins) staying together for the long haul. If he expresses that to the front office and puts the pressure on, I have a hard time seeing the Bengals letting Higgins walk.
Burrow also has a cap hit of $46 million in 2025. Based on what he told the media, I wouldn't be shocked to see him rework his deal to free up space and allow the team to sign Higgins long-term. What else would I make of "I know that I'm going to do what it takes to get him back?"
If Higgins is off the market, other big name free agent wide receivers include Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, Chris Godwin, Diontae Johnson, and Brandin Cooks.
