Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin isn't mincing words when it comes to the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
The Rebels are at No. 13 in the latest rankings, one spot behind Miami and two spots behind Alabama.
Ole Miss has a very similar resumé to Alabama, which is why it's bizarre that the Crimson Tide passed the Hurricanes in the rankings this week but the Rebels didn't.
Kiffin responded to the committee on Wednesday morning via a post on Twitter/X.com.
"You guys (playoff committee) actually meet for days and come up with these rankings?" tweeted Kiffin. "Do you actually watch the quality of players, teams, and road environments (we played in one of yours this year) or just try and make the ACC feel relevant?? [By the way], one of your teams (Wake Forest) paid us not to play again next year. Same #12 spot you guys had Clemson ranked last week. How did that go against the SEC? Rewatch UGA vs Clemson closely if you want a reminder of the two conferences."
Kiffin has a legitimate gripe. Ole Miss could easily be ahead of Alabama in the rankings and it would make sense (the problem is that you can make a case for either team, as well as Miami, so regardless a deserving team is going to be left out). Putting Alabama over Miami but not Ole Miss over Miami is an undeniable sign that the playoff committee is heavily influenced by brand bias.
Alabama is likely going to be a College Football Playoff team and Ole Miss likely won't be.
The biggest reason why that's the case is because of logos. Alabama is Alabama and Ole Miss isn't.
The College Football Playoff committee blatantly exposes its bias and proves Lane Kiffin correct
They’re not even hiding it
