18 years.

The amount of time it takes for a human to become an adult, or in the case of Mike Tomlin the amount of consecutive winning seasons he's had as the HC of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And after attaining that feat in a shootout against the Cincinnati Bengals, it's time to give him and his QB an apology:

Steelers Offense Goes Bonkers vs. Bengals

Russell Wilson orchestrated a Steelers offense that was reminiscent of the Killer B era on Sunday, and the stats and points matched it. Wilson accounted for the second most passing yards of his career at 414 yards on a 76.3% completion percentage to go along with three scores. Pittsburgh's 524 yards of total offense is the most since 2018, as is their 44 points.

"I just thought our group, you know, smile in the face of it [adversity] but particularly Russ," said Tomlin after the game. "You know, it's the first time for him going through this AFC North football and man, I thought he acclimated himself well today. He put himself squarely in the history of these series and this series with that performance today, man, and we're thankful for it."

Mike Tomlin was maligned for his QB decisions this offseason and then again once he switched from Justin Fields to Russell Wilson who is now 5-1 as the starter and lead an offense that got 10, yes 10 different pass catchers involved on Sunday.

Wilson had not had a 400-yard game since his days with the Seattle Seahawks, and had he played like this with the Denver Broncos, he wouldn't be in Pittsburgh, but certainly not on a veteran minimum deal.

So in all, the apology tour is making it's way around the 412. Those saying that Tomlin was out of touch or insane for acquiring Justin Fields and Russell Wilson before making a switch despite being 4-2, well sorry is in order.

And the same goes for everyone who called a QB that jiust turned 36 "washed" when he puts up one of the best performances of his Hall of Fame career.
