The San Francisco 49ers suffered their third successive defeat on Sunday as they slumped to a 35-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

It is a run that has left their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, but their primetime loss in Orchard Park also continued another losing streak for the Niners.

With snow coming down at kickoff and throughout an ultimately one-sided contest, the Week 13 matchup marked the 49ers' first official regular-season snow game since a 26-6 loss to the Chicago Bears in 2016.

Prior to that, the 49ers' last snow game came in the 2003 season against the Cincinnati Bengals.

That game was substantially more competitive, though the 49ers still came up short as they lost a 41-38 shootout in Cincinnati in Week 15.

In short, since 1991, the earliest point such data is available, the 49ers have played three official snow games and lost them all.

Their 0-3 record in snow games is not something the Niners will care about, but their inability to win in the elements this time has left them facing the likely reality of their 2024 campaign coming to an end much earlier than they anticipated.
