The San Francisco 49ers are 5-7 after another blowout loss, this time at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, yet they are still favored by the oddsmakers to do something they have never done: beat the Chicago Bears at Levi's Stadium.

Per OddsTrader, the 49ers opened as six-point favorites for their Week 14 clash with the Bears despite being hammered 35-10 by the Bills on Sunday Night Football.

The Bears are 4-8 and without a head coach following the firing of Matt Eberflus, but history is on their side in this one.

Chicago has won its only two games at Levi's Stadium, the first one being the first regular-season game played at the venue in its opening season in 2014. The Bears staged a big fightback to win 28-20. San Francisco has not beaten Chicago at home since a 32-7 victory in 2012 in Colin Kaepernick's first start at quarterback.

The Bears won 14-9 at Levi's in 2018, a season in which they made the playoffs.

That ship appears to have sailed once again this year for Chicago, but with the potential for interim coach bounce with Thomas Brown and some extra rest having played on Thanksgiving, the Bears have reason for confidence they can upset the odds.

San Francisco, meanwhile, simply must vindicate its status as the favorite, a task that got harder with a likely season-ending injury to Christian McCaffrey suffered in Buffalo.

Fail to make history with a first Levi's win over Chicago, and the 49ers' season will be all but over.
