Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens has developed a very clear pattern in the NFL.

Win, and the budding superstar is all smiles, especially when he's making the acrobatic grabs and game-changing plays that he's capable of.

But lose and let him not see the ball as much as he would like, and there are sure to be fireworks.

Well, the latter is exactly what occurred on the final play against the Cleveland Browns:

Pickens decides to fight a player, instead of for the ball on Hail Mary

The video is damning, as on the final play of the game, when the team could really use their best WR and one of the best jump ball receivers in the league to take a stab at a game-winning play, he's fighting, but it's not for the ball.

Instead, it was with Browns CB Greg Newsome, who completely got George Pickens off his game, in his own head, and then into a scuffle and ultimately into the headlines for all the wrong reasons, yet again.

Pickens would go on to say nothing happened when asked about his end-of-game shenanigans, but he was much more elaborate on what he thought of the Browns and the outcome of the game:

“The conditions were so bad,” Pickens told reporters when asked about being unable. to come down with a TD grab where he was wide open in the endzone. “I don’t even think the QB could see sometimes. When you’ve got conditions like that at the opponent’s home field, it kinda plays in their favor…

"…The conditions played a huge, huge part in today’s game. I don’t really think the Cleveland Browns are a good team at all. I think the conditions kinda saved them today.”

Well, it's safe to say that Newsome, the corner who was on the other end of Pickens' hands wasn't the biggest fan of his, going as far as to call Pickens "a fake tough guy" in a post on X after the game.

For Pickens, it's the second time in less than a week that he is in the news cycle for the wrong reasons, as he was fined for the second time this season last Saturday following his facemask penalty against the Washington Commanders.

Hopefully, Pickens can learn to keep his hands to himself down the homestretch of the season.
