The New York Giants are officially turning the page. At the quarterback position, Daniel Jones has taken his last snap for the Giants. New York made that official on Friday when they announced that Jones will be released.
In Week 12, Tommy DeVito is set to start for New York. While he probably is not the long-term answer at QB in New York, they had to put an end to the Jones experiment.
Now, other players are being asked about the future of the position for the Giants, including rookie wideout Malik Nabers.
Nabers' hopes
The rookie made it short and sweet. He simply wants the football from the next quarterback in New York.
"I don't want anything, I want the ball. As long as you can get me the ball, we're good."
That's simple enough for the talented rookie. In an offense, if you struggle to get the ball to your playmakers, that is a "you" problem.
The Giants have had issues with that regarding Nabers over the past month of play. With the team's overall struggles, his production has also seen a decrease since his fiery start to the season.
Nabers did practice on Friday during the open portion to the media, either. It will be an intriguing piece to swatch going forward for the Giants. He is dealing with a groin injury, according to Adam Schefter.
As for the future at QB for New York, there will be plenty of avenues. They are slated to pick in the top five of the 2025 NFL Draft, so a rookie may be on the table in round one. A veteran starter in free agency could be the route they take, too.
Only time will tell.
