If they could do it all over again, the Alabama Crimson Tide march into Norman with a better script and overall gameplan against Oklahoma.
Losing the turnover battle and ultimately the game, it was the offense that bears the brunt of the blame.
But that didn't leave DC Kane Wommack without criticism of his unit, and more specifically, his own playcalling:
Wommack wishes he had one back
"I think there's always … There were probably two or three things I would have rather called this vs. that," said Wommack when asked if he would have changed anything. "You look at it, I think you've got to be critical of yourself first in terms of, OK what could I have called to put ourselves in a better position? Quite honestly, the explosive plays that we gave up, probably one of those calls I would have liked to have had back…
"…The other two really didn't hurt us, but I thought I could have called something better in the moment. But really, I think that's the hard thing. Getting guys to play consistently play in and play out and do the same high-level job. You have that exact same run and we knock it out. All of a sudden maybe they come back to it, and we didn't do our job in that moment. I think building consistency has been really the challenge for us in Year 1, and that's something we're going to have to continue to strive to do this week against a good rushing attack."
If one had to guess which play Wommack was hinting at, it would be the OU rushing TD that went for over 20 yards and gave the Sooners a 10-3 lead heading into half, giving Oklahoma a wave of momentum they never gave up.
It's safe to say the Tide and Wommack will certainly be wishing they had done a lot of things differently if they miss out on the College Football Playoff when the final rankings drop in a couple of weeks.
