The Ohio State Buckeyes are focused on beating Michigan on Saturday, but head coach Ryan Day checked off a big need beforehand. 4-star tight end Corbyn Fordham committed to the Buckeyes on the eve of The Game. The 2026 tight end from Florida is a big boost for the Buckeyes' future needs.

“I’m home let’s do it BUCKEYE NATION!!”

Fordham, recruited by tight ends coach Keenan Bailey, was also considering Clemson, Georgia, and many other programs.

Bailey has established himself as one of the leading recruiters on the Buckeyes coaching staff. Since taking over as the full-time tight ends coach, he has successfully secured commitments from his top targets, including a recent addition to the 2026 class.

Ohio State extended an offer to Fordham during a visit in March, and he has returned frequently since then. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds, Fordham participated in a camp with the Buckeyes in June and was back in Columbus on Saturday to witness Ohio State's impressive win over Purdue.

“I love Ohio State,” Fordham told Lettermen Row after the visit. “I’ve always loved it from the beginning once Coach Kee offered me a scholarship.”

“That was my first game visit so everyone, like all the coaches, were telling me this is a loud stadium. Obviously I had to see it before I believed it, but that stadium does get really loud and every seat is packed, which was crazy to see for my own eyes.”

Ranked as the No. 335 overall prospect and the No. 16 tight end in the On3 Industry Rankings, Fordham is also positioned as the No. 34 tight end in the 2026 class, according to On3.

In his junior season, Fordham recorded 22 receptions for 226 yards and four touchdowns across 11 games. He and The Bolles School are set to face Gadsden County (Fla.) on Friday in the FHSAA 2A regional finals.

Fordham marks the third commitment for Ohio State in the 2026 recruiting class, joining Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei and three-star wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts from Pataskala (Ohio) Watkins Memorial.
