While the Cleveland Browns are coming off of a win over the Baltimore Ravens, they are still a 2-6 football team on the season. The likelihood of them being in the playoffs at the end of the year is low, it really is that simple.

Jameis Winston gave Cleveland a good game against the Ravens with 321 passing yards and three touchdowns in the 29-24 victory.

Still, the Browns need a long-term fix at quarterback with Deshaun Watson having proven he is not the franchise quarterback. Winston is on a one-year deal and could be a bridge option, but Cleveland needs a long-term answer.

In the latest 2025 NFL mock draft from A to Z Sports, the Browns address just that.

Cleveland selects Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders No. 3 overall

With this pick, the Browns take the most accurate passer in the draft and the only quarterback I feel comfortable taking at this point. Sanders plays on a team that isn’t great, but he has proven he is a good pocket passer that can throw ropes all over the field.

“With the Deshaun Watson situation, it’s unlikely that we ever see him in a Browns uniform again. That means we need a quarterback of the future, and that’s Sanders in this situation. While the ceiling isn’t the highest of the group, Sanders is the most accurate quarterback of the bunch and arguably the safest bet.” – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports

The Colorado quarterback isn’t a dual-threat style guy and could be a good fit in Cleveland’s offense. He is a capable runner, though it won’t be by design.

Watson is now recovering from his Achilles injury and his future in Cleveland is unclear. The Browns need to address the most important position in football once again.
