There have been some strange results through the first half of the 2024 SEC football season.

Watching Alabama beat Georgia before losing to Vanderbilt was certainly unexpected. But according to ESPN's Paul Finebaum, that's not the strangest result of the season so far.

Finebaum pointed out Kentucky's win against Ole Miss during an appearance on The Matt Barrie Show as the weirdest game that we've seen so far in 2024.

"If you asked me what's the weirdest game of the year, it's probably Kentucky going to Oxford and winning against what I thought was a playoff team," said Finebaum. "And Kentucky can't beat anyone now."

"Mark Stoops has got a really good résumé," added Finebaum. "But you wonder if after he started putting his coaching staff together at midnight and then found out he wasn't going to be the [Texas] A&M coach, did he ever recover from that moment? Because it doesn't look like it."

Kentucky had a tough start to the season, losing to South Carolina at home by 25 points in Week 2 before narrowly losing to Georgia in Week 3.

The Wildcats shocked everyone with their win against Ole Miss (that win seriously harmed the Rebels' playoff chances). But Kentucky has been terrible since leaving Oxford with a win. The Wildcats have lost three in a row since beating Ole Miss,

Kentucky could be looking at a fourth straight loss as they head to Knoxville this weekend to take on the Tennessee Vols. With a game against Texas also looming, it's starting to look like the Wildcats will fail to get to six wins for just the fourth time since Mark Stoops was hired as the program's head coach in 2013.
