The last two weeks have not been kind to the Minnesota Vikings. They lost both games over a five day stretch and have struggled in a multitude of areas.

One of the biggest areas the Vikings have struggled at is in coverage. They have allowed Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford to torch them over the middle of the field, an area usually occupied by inside linebacker Blake Cashman. He missed the last two games with a turf toe injury.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell appeared on the flagship station for the Vikings KFAN and said he was hopeful that Cashman would play against the Indianapolis Colts.

That certainly doesn't sound like someone who is going to play. It almost sounds like he's trying to manifest Cashman suiting up on Sunday night. Who can blame him? The loss of Cashman has had a dire effect on the Vikings' defense, especially against the pass.

Ivan Pace Jr. was targeted and taken advantage of by the Rams on Thursday night. The first touchdown to Kyren Williams he overpursued a Texas Route and Stafford found him for an easy touchdown.

Getting Cashman back at any point will be huge for the Vikings' defense, especially against the pass where they have been gashed recently.
