The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed Cam Sutton in the offseason despite him being released by the Detriot Lions for a domestic dispute.

Two things were clear but undecided at the point. The Steelers desperately needed a slot corner and they knew Sutton would be unavailable for a portion of the season.

Well, they seemingly survived the latter with the play of Beanie Bishop, but following the release of the league wire on Tuesday, Sutton is officially back.

Pittsburgh now has a decision to make:

NFL Officially Reinstates Cam Sutton

CB Cameron Sutton , who was suspended eight games for violation of the league's personal conduct policy, had his suspension officially lifted on Tuesday and was given a roster exemption by the Commissioner, per the league wire.

For Pittsburgh, there was a time earlier this season when Beanie Bishop was struggling mightily, being made quick work of by the Dallas Cowboys in the team's first primetime affair of the season.

But in the last two weeks alone, the rookie UDFA has three interceptions, including one of the best you will ever see against future Hall of Fame QB Aaron Rodgers, and the game winning interception over the New York Giants on Monday Night.

"I don't think about it at all you know, I just go out there and play football, it is what it is as far as that aspect. I'm excited to have him back and im just here to play football," Beanie Bishop said when asked about the return of Sutton.

For what it's worth, Sutton played a lot of safety in the preseason and during training camp, though it was often with the second or third team as between his suspension and the need to prepare younger players, his reps were not a priority.

And with media limitations past the warmup portion of practice, we likely won't know what role Sutton assumes when the team returns to practice next week, meaning we'll find out what exactly his role is against the Washington Commanders in a little less than two weeks.
