DeAndre Hopkins has already proved that he's a perfect fit for the Kansas City Chiefs despite the fact that he hasn't played a snap yet.

And that's because it seems he's a fan of one very important member of Chiefs Kingdom.

Just a few days before the trade, Hopkins posted a video of his family dancing and singing along to Taylor Swift's song "22."

And it was his caption that hinted he might have been clued in about this possibility of joining Kansas City.

"rumor has it,” he wrote under the video.

Turns out, the rumors were true. And now he'll be joining Travis Kelce on the field.

More Information on the DeAndre Hopkins Trade

Chiefs' trade for DeAndre Hopkins could be the transformative move that defines their 2024 season (via Wendell Ferreira)

The Kansas City Chiefs has finally found their wide receiver one, and DeAndre Hopkins will finally play again with a top quarterback. According to ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are finalizing the details to acquire veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans six days ahead of the trade deadline.

The move is huge and makes sense for both sides. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs will pay a fifth-round pick that can go to a fourth.

The Chiefs had incredible bad luck at wide receiver, since both Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown got hurt. Right now, JuJu Smith-Schuster and rookie Xavier Worthy were the most reliable options outside of Travis Kelce, but Mahomes needed more. And a team in this type of championship window can't lose any time.

For the Titans, it's an understanding of where they are as a franchise. It's a step into the direction of the future, getting some draft capital and cap relief for a player that probably won't be good when the Titans have a chance to be.

Trade conditions make the Chiefs' deal to acquire WR DeAndre Hopkins from the Titans even sweeter (via Charles Goldman)

The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off quite the deal with the Tennessee Titans to acquire WR DeAndre Hopkins in trade.

Initial reports indicated that the deal for Hopkins would involve a conditional fifth-round draft pick, which could become a fourth-round draft pick. Now that those trade conditions have been revealed they make the deal for Hopkins that much sweeter for the reigning Super Bowl champions. It looks a lot like your typical Brett Veach masterclass.

Here's a quick look at the conditions. . .

Chiefs receive:

WR DeAndre Hopkins

AND

$2.5 million in Hopkins' salary paid by Tennessee

Titans receive:

A 2025 fifth-round pick

OR

A 2025 fourth-round pick IF KC makes the Super Bowl and Hopkins plays 60% of the offensive snaps with the Chiefs in 2024.
