Oklahoma Sooners head coach Brent Venables has no reservations about the new offensive playcaller

The Oklahoma Sooners made some very crucial changes this last week, changes that will now require the nation's eyes to be on the crimson and creme this week against the Ole Miss Rebels.
Now, no one thinks these changes instantly put OU in the drivers seat to win this game. In fact, I think most will think they lose.
But, if there aren't improvements, it's going to look a little awkward. Ole Miss is a very good team, and it could still be an ugly game on Saturday. But, maybe this helps take that possibility and dim it down a bit.
Earlier this week, the Sooners fired offensive coordinator Seth Littrell. He just wasn't getting the job done. The scheme was bad, the discipline was bad, and everything else you can think of. It doesn't help that there are a million injuries on this team but something had to be done.
Joe John Finley, the former Ole Miss tight ends coach, and Kevin Johns are getting a bit of a promotion, with Finley calling the plays, and getting some input from Johns.
While there is little to no experience calling plays there, Venables is not worried. I mean, how much worse can it get?
"He's been around a lot of ball," Venables said. "He's got great leadership skills is an effective communicator and has been around every part of our program. The balance is putting together the best game plan you can."
The Sooners have struggled in all aspects of the offense. Maybe with the change in playcaller, the change at quarterback in Jackson Arnold, will all help as well. We will have to see against an Ole Miss defense that is pretty good in certain areas.
