What. A. Catch.
Former Ohio State star wide receiver just made a great case for the best catch you will see maybe this entire NFL season. Wilson went up with one hand and caught a 26-yard touchdown pass against the Houston Texans from New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Wilson had 51 catches for 573 yards and three touchdowns coming into the game with eight games played this season. The former Buckeye is well on his way to another 1,000-yard season. Wilson crossed 1,000 yards each of the last two seasons.
Even after trading for DaVante Adams, Wilson has remained Rodgers’ top target for the Jets. The young wide receiver has games of 113, 107, and 101 yards this season. In a much-needed win over the Texans, Wilson finished with nine catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
At MetLife Stadium in New York, it was almost as if the place had captured a catch like that before. They have, as Odell Beckham Jr.’s famous one-hand catch happened there.
It may have taken a review to see that the shin got down inbounds, but Wilson just out in a great case for the best catch of the season. Perhaps it is the best catch we have seen in quite some time.
Wilson was a one time five-star recruit that spent three seasons in Columbus and was an impact player from his freshman season on. In his career at Ohio State, Wilson reeled in 143 catches for 2,213 yards, and 23 touchdowns. Wilson had 1,058 yards his junior season and was drafted No. 10 overall by New York in the 2022 NFL Draft.
