The Texas A&M Aggies head into week ten of college sitting as the No. 10 ranked team in the country. They are a program that controls their own destiny right now, sitting at the top of the SEC. First and foremost, they are going to have to take care of business against South Carolina this weekend on the road. The Gamecocks are a tough team that you need to be prepared for.
Both LSU and Texas are on bye weeks, but would be a part of the rooting guide if they had games. Regardless, there are several games that have big implications on this Aggies team. These are the games that Texas A&M fans need to pay close attention to this weekend.
Florida at (2) Georgia
Right now, Texas A&M controls their own destiny. They are currently the only SEC team that is undefeated in conference, currently sitting at 5-0 overall. As it currently stands, Georgia is ranked second in the SEC conference. If the Bulldogs were to somehow lose to Florida, that would move them to 4-2 on the season in the conference. That would open up an opportunity for several other SEC programs, and allow the Aggies to separate themselves at the top.
This hypothetical would also seriously hurt Georgia, and their chances to make the college football playoffs. If Texas A&M is able to make the field, not having to see Georgia would be a big bonus.
Kentucky at (7) Tennessee
Like the Georgia conversation, a potential Tennessee loss to Kentucky could create even more separation for the Aggies. They are also a program that is in the SEC championship conversation, and another loss would make that outlook a lot murkier. Not only could that have SEC implications, but that could make the Volunteers push for a playoff berth all the tougher.
Louisville at (11) Clemson
Clemson is currently right on your heels in the AP Poll, which means at least in theory, they should be close to you when the college football playoff rankings come out this week. Clemson losing could potentially create a little bit of separation for Texas A&M, at least right near the end of the top ten. Teams losing around them ranking wise will never hurt.
